A selection from the series ‘Iceland blues’. These cylinders are turned with stoneware clay in the base and porcelain clay towards the top, the addition of color pigments to the clay creates layered impressions of landscapes. This series is the sequel to “Longing for the sea” and the result of even more control and refinement in the technique. The landscapes were inspired by several bicycle trips in Iceland.
The unruliness, tension and shrinkage during the turning and firing process remain visible through slight distortions in the work.
